Tamil Nadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernization Project (TNIAMP) is being implemented for six years from 2017-18 to 2022-23 in 66 sub-basins with a project outlay of Rs.125 Crore.
TNIAM Project aims to promote farmer Producer Organizations, investment support to these FPCs, supporting Business expansion grant to existing FPCs and creating opportunities for Agri business development for Agri entrepreneurs and Modernisation of Regulation Markets to get remunerative price for Agricultural Produce.
In phase - I for 18 sub basins, Administrative sanction has been accorded for Rs. 51.72 Cr for three years and Financial sanction for 2019-20 has been received for Rs. 10.45 Crore and the project is under implementation.
In Phase-II, for 16 sub basins, Administrative sanction has been accorded for Rs. 26.38 Cr for three years and Financial sanction for 2019-20 has been received for Rs. 5.42 Crore and the project is under implementation.
Agri entrepreneurship Scheme is State level sponsored scheme with an outlay of Rs. 8.5 Crores for coverage of 350 agri enterprises over 3 years from 2021-22 to 2023-24 being implemented by Department of Agrimarketing and Agribusiness.
The scheme aims to develop the competitiveness and business capabilities of agri entrepreneurs by sensitization, business training and financial linkage. It also targets to enhance the existing individual agri-enterprises in the agri and food processing industry by expansion of the existing facility and modernization of the processing unit.
All the economically viable Agri related activities such as value addition, processing and packaging facilities (including primary processing). Priority will be given to projects which are eco-friendly, accord importance to energy conservation and are export oriented.
The scheme aims to promote agri entrepreneurship in food and agri allied sector by developing their business skill set through entrepreneurship training and providing financial linkage to the individuals.
The total project cost shall be the maximum of Rs.5.00 lakhs. Capital subsidy will 40% of project cost not exceeding maximum of Rs.2.00 lakhs. Promoter’s contribution is 20% of the project cost.
The scheme aims to provide business support for existing agri entrepreneurs to undertake value addition activities in food and agri allied sector by providing financial linkage and back-ended subsidy to them.
The total project cost shall be the maximum of Rs.10.00 lakhs. Capital subsidy will 50% of project cost not exceeding maximum of Rs.5.00 lakhs. Promoter’s contribution is 25% of the project cost.

• Facilitation workshops are conducted across the state for individuals to sensitize about the scheme and potential business opportunities in the sub-basin and district. As of June 2023, 15 facilitation workshops have been successfully conducted reaching around 750 individuals from the farming community.
• Two days agribusiness trainings are conducted in selected Agri-business Incubators through Technology Business Incubator, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. As of June 2023, 11 trainings have been successfully conducted to provide hands-on trainings and in-class session on agribusiness management and operations for 225 applicants of the agri-entrepreneurship.
